Wolverine (Gulo gulo) photography offers a unique opportunity to photograph this rare and elusive predator in the wilderness of Bear Centre. Photography takes place from the same comfortable wildlife hides used for bear photography, allowing photographers to observe and photograph wolverines in their natural environment without disturbing the animals.
Depending on the hide, wolverines can approach as close as five metres, providing excellent opportunities for close-up photography. Wolverines move throughout the entire hide area, giving photographers the chance to capture images in a variety of landscapes and natural backgrounds. The terrain in front of the hides remains natural and untouched, creating authentic wilderness scenes.
Several individuals live in the area, usually 3–4 different wolverines, and they can typically be seen 4–6 times per week. This makes Bear Centre one of the best locations in Europe to photograph this rare and fascinating predator.
Wolverines can be photographed in winter in snowy landscapes or during the summer surrounded by the green wilderness.
