Overnight Bear Watching Experience
The overnight excursion offers a unique opportunity to spend a full night in the realm of brown bears and observe wildlife from evening until early morning.
The experience begins at the Bear Centre with a short introduction, after which guests walk approximately 400 metres along an easy forest track to the Bear Watching House. The route is accessible and suitable for almost everyone. The viewing house is located in a peaceful and secluded forest area, offering clear views of the bears’ natural routes.
Compared to the evening excursion, the overnight experience provides more time, increasing the chances of seeing multiple animals during the night. Bears are most active in the evening and nighttime, and other wildlife such as wolverines, foxes, and occasionally wolves may also appear.
At the Bear Watching House, guests can observe wildlife throughout the night. There is also an opportunity to rest or sleep, while still being able to easily spot animals directly from the viewing area when they arrive.
A night in the Bear Watching House offers a truly unique way to experience the northern wilderness — the silence, the sounds of nature, and the movements of wildlife in the dark forest.

Wildlife & Expectations
While the probability of seeing bears is high, it is important to remember that they are wild animals moving entirely according to their natural behavior.
For this reason, sightings cannot be guaranteed on every excursion. Bears arrive and leave according to their own schedule.
Sometimes bears may appear quickly, and several individuals can be seen during the same evening. At other times, wildlife observation requires a bit more patience.
However, every visit to the Bear Watching House is a unique nature experience, offering the chance to enjoy the peace of the wilderness, beautiful landscapes, and wildlife in their natural environment.

Bear Centre offers one of Europe’s most authentic brown bear experiences. Our long experience, carefully selected locations, and responsible practices ensure both a high probability of sightings and an ethical, safe wildlife encounter. Bears are completely wild, free-roaming, and observed without disturbance.
Bear watching and photography always take place between 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM. For safety and to respect wildlife, leaving the hide or observation house during the programme is not possible.
Photography and viewing hides are located 400–900 metres walking distance from the Bear Centre. The walk is part of the experience and takes place in natural forest terrain.
Bear watching is suitable for all ages and does not require physical fitness. Observation houses are reached via a short and easy walk, with no physical or age-related limitations.
Viewing facilities are warm, weather-protected, and comfortable, designed for relaxed and extended observation. Bears can be watched — and photographed — through large glass windows, without disturbing them.
In viewing locations, bears typically move within 10–20 metres, creating powerful and memorable encounters in complete safety.
The probability of seeing bears is high, but as bears are wild animals, sightings can never be guaranteed. Most guests see one or more bears during their visit.
Photography programmes are designed for photographers and allow photography without glass, by placing the camera lens directly into a photography opening for reflection-free images.
Viewing programmes are designed for general visitors and allow photography through glass, offering a more comfortable and accessible way to experience bears.
